Overheard at a concert:  "This is better still than the Wigmore, you get to talk to the artists!"

From a performer:
"if only all concerts were like this"

    Introduction

Wethersfield Chamber Concerts held its inaugural concert in October 2012, in the Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene, situated in the heart of the community. Wethersfield is a small village in north-west Essex, next to the popular tourist destination of Finchingfield and equidistant from Saffron Walden and Sudbury in Suffolk.

Our objective is to stage chamber concerts of very high quality in a village setting. We provide a platform for some of the best young classical musicians to play in our community; those starting out in their careers, but nevertheless who are already performing at top venues such as the Wigmore Hall and the Barbican, and alongside many international established names.

Our aim is to have a short season of concerts each year. The concerts are not intended to be a fund raising exercise; rather they are to bring talented musicians into our beautiful and timeless church and allow us to enjoy an almost spiritual connection with the music.

    Location

The beautiful thirteenth century parish church of St Mary Magdalene has a large nave with pews on either side of the central aisle.

The church is situated on the High Street in Wethersfield, overlooking the village green.

    A warm welcome awaits you

We are excited by the prospect of sharing such musical talent with you. The concerts are open to anyone appreciative of chamber concerts, either from Wethersfield, the surrounding villages or further afield. We hope that you enjoy the whole experience, from booking the tickets to attending the concert. Either way, please share your thoughts with us.
